- What has changed in the curriculum?
- See the SAW 1.0/SAW 2.0 Comparison
- Applies accelerated learning principals to maximize knowledge retention. Strategically placed activities designed to engage multiple senses and create an active learning environment
- Designed to support HCAHPS and Joint Commission Patient Safety goals
- Coach-led review of homework in Week 2 sessions (in computer lab)
- Updated CLP; more integrated into program
- New Knowledge Mastery Certificate available to graduates who score at least 80% on post-assessment
- Why are you updating SAW now?
- Five years of excellent customer suggestions and the need to address the importance of HCAPHS standards and Joint Commission Patient Safety goals were driving motivators in updating the SAW curriculum now.
- The most common constraint for organizations who want to implement SW is related to the availability of a qualified person to serve as Coach. By reducing the time commitment from 9 months to 6 months; we are alleviating some of the resource concern.
- Why were the Anatomy & Physiology modules removed?
- One of the target objectives for 2.0 was to reduce the 8-9 month program length due to a commonly heard constraint: Coach resource limitations. Upon further reflection, we didn’t feel that A&P were directly supporting the target outcomes for SAW: increased engagement; preparation for college enrollment; and advancement to another position. Removing them reduced program length by 1 month. Our plan is to still include the A&P modules in ECHO.
- When will I have to start using School at Work 2.0? Am I required to do my next class using the new SAW program?

- Catalyst Learning will support the current product through classes ending December 15, 2011. This means that classes using the current product must begin no later than March 1, 2011.
