The Career and Learning Plan (CLP) is a written, individual plan developed by each student.
School at Work is more than a training program.
Done by the employee with the help of a hospital recruiter or mentor, the CLP marries the hospital's workforce needs with employee's goals and interests!
SELF ASSESSMENT
Your employees will be asked to identify:
Likes and dislikes
Future goals
Obstacles that might prevent them from accomplishing their career goals
IDENTIFYING RESOURCES
Your employees will learn:
Who can they talk to in the hospital
Where they can obtain additional input regarding career choices
Sources of support for achieving goals

RESEARCHING NEXT CAREER STEPS
Your employees will:
Meet with a Human Resources representative from your facility
Research available jobs and the skills and or education needed for those jobs
Begin to visualize their continuing career and learning path more clearly and purposefully
OVERCOMING BARRIERS
Your employees will:
Take steps to overcome their most difficult career barriers
Be given the opportunity to meet with their SAW Coach for suggestions and input on their Career and Learning Plan
ACTION PLANNING
Your employees will:
List actions they will take to meet their career goals and set deadlines for completing those actions
Learn to set interim milestones for achieving long-term career goals
COMPLETING THE CLP
Your employees will:
Review Action Plans and the deadlines for completing actions
List continuing education steps and necessary milestones for moving ahead in their career and learning goals
